compass choice for all steel sailboat Views: 5490

This is for a 33 ft tiller steering (no room for binnacle) all steel sailboat I am building. I had planned/hoped to mount the compass on the bulkhead (also steel) next to the companionway (and thus parallel to but off the centerline). The boat being steel renders many, in fact most, compasses unsuitable (because of the amount of steel induced deviation). What I have found is the Ritchie HB 845 Steel Boat Bracket Mount Helmsman Compass. Is that suitable?
I would be grateful for input on this question.
Thank you in advance for replies.
Dan
